ORONGORONGO STATION 4WD Scenic Tour
(WAINUIOMATA COAST)
Situated on the Wainuiomata Coast. This tour offers fantastic scenery in an untamed wilderness. This coastline has been formed by a number of earthquakes. The area is steeped in history; pass ‘Barney’s Whare’ – once home to late reclusive
maritime painter Frank Barnes.
This coast was also the migrational route for early Maori, and the traditional muster route for early New Zealand pioneers. Enjoy sweeping views of Cook Strait, the Kaikoura Mountain
Ranges and Wairarapa Coast.
Duration of Tour: Four and a half hours. (All tour times dependent on number of stops and activities you choose. Above duration allows
for one coffee stop only).
